About Us

Colorado Theological Seminary (CTS) now offers distance learning programs leading to a Seminary Certificate. Each program is designed for a specific number of courses and semester hours. These curriculums offer students not interested in pursuing a degree program the option of achieving a college level credential in a specialty area. Programs are offered at the undergraduate level. Our programs allow for the transfer of credits into a degree curriculum at a later time, thus providing the option to graduate with the seminary certificate and enrolling later into a full degree program. There is open enrollment and student's may start their program at any time. There are no travel requirements. Our programs provide for flexibility and ease of accessing all course materials, including our on line bookstore and our comprehensive student resource center. Students may begin their curriculums at any time and will be assigned a mentor to assist them through their program.

Certificate in Ministry

CED 111 - Life Management, God's Way

This course deals with how to make proper decisions, the management of the soul, spirit, finances, and time. It will help the new student to become centered and focused on spiritual matters. The course includes: Financial Management, Goal Setting, Family Management and Improving Your Personality.

BTH 106 - Bible Doctrines

This course is an introduction to all basic biblical doctrines. It will give an overview and discuss the rudimentary doctrines of different denominations and it lays the foundation for the student who wishes to study extensive Bible Theology. These doctrines include: The Bible, Repentance, and Benefits of the Cross, Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and Praise and Worship.

BOT 130 - OT Men and Women of Faith

This course is a study of the men and women of the Old Testament who were outstanding in their faith. Their lives can be seen as examples for us in our walk as Believers today. Some of the characters included in the commentary are: Adam, Abraham, Moses, Ruth and Esther.

BOT 215 - Generic Epistles

This course is a basic study of the General Epistles which includes James, I and II Peter, I, II, III John and Jude. Each book gives a somewhat detailed account of the writer and his intent for writing the book. Each chapter begins with an overview of the book in the form of a survey and then outlines and highlights the progression and order of each book. Finally, the main thrust of each book is discussed.

BPA 140 - Preparation for Ministry 1

This course gives comprehensive details on the spirit, function and service of the Armor-bearer as seen by the biblical perspective of the Old and New Testaments. It also entails the attitudes necessary for true Christian service. Those attitudes include: The Mind of Christ, Singleness of Heart, Functions of the Servant and Becoming Principled People.

BNT 100 - New Testament Survey

This course gives a survey of the New Testament from the silent years that were between the Testaments through the Book of Revelation. It gives an overview of each of the New Testament Books highlighting the main topics of each book.

BOT 121 - Old Testament Studies 1

A study of the first five Books of the Bible, looking at the origin of the earth through the development of humanity into the nation of Israel. The course includes an introduction to the Old Testament, an overall view of early biblical culture and detailed outlines of each of the five Books of Moses.

BNT 110 - Between the Testaments

This course is a study of the background for the New Testament’s Political and Cultural settings, defining how they impacted the New Testament peoples. It details the historical happenings between the Book of Malachi and Matthew. The main topics of the course include: A look at the lives of the twelve Disciples, the six periods of Jewish History, Greek and Roman political backgrounds and a maps and charts section.

BPR 333 - Bible Prophecy

This course deals with prophecies of the Bible. It defines and outlines Old Testament Prophecies and other prophetic messages. It sheds light on the personalities of the prophets, their lives, and ministries. The course further discusses prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled.

BPA 222 - Faith

This course gives a broad look at the development and the need for faith. It gives an in-depth definition of faith and how to appropriate faith in the life of the Believer. Other main topics include: The two sides of faith, the importance of faith, defining true faith and enemies of faith.

Certificate in Evangelism and Missions

MIS 111 - Intro to Personal Evangelism

This course is an introductory level course on witnessing and effectively sharing the Gospel. It gives valuable information on how to set up a card system for memorizing Scripture, how and when to witness, the proper way to witness, Do’s and Don’ts of successful soul winning.

MIS 232 - Missions

This course will give an overall definition of Missions and the need for World Wide Missions from the Old Testament and New Testament perspective. It will discuss the Great Commissions, the Post Resurrection Ministry and the Voyages of Paul.

MIS 240 - World Geography for Missions

This course gives an overall look at World Geography and its relationship to the Bible. It will use demographics and other information to explain the work of Missions and Missionary leaders throughout the World.

MIS 443 - Trends in Missions 1

This course deals with the methods and machinery employed by God for World Harvest. It discusses the need for evangelism and defines the unreached peoples groups within the 10/40 window. It gives informative tips on how to evangelize the nations where Christianity is forbidden to be practiced.

MIS 453 - Trends in Missions 2

This course picks up where Trends in Missions I leave off. It discusses global trends and demographics of countries within the 10/40 window. Other topics that are included in the course are: Major Mega Trends, the rise and influence of Post Modernism, Ten current challenges in Missions, and Contextualization in Missions.

ADM 311 - Leadership in Ministry 1

This course is an introduction to the necessity and responsibility of ministerial leadership. The topics that are included in this course are: The responsibilities and obstacles of leadership, the basic tenants of leadership, Spiritual vision, Accountability, The proper way to handle church finances, and twenty-first century leaders.

ADM 422 - Leadership in Ministry 2

This course is a continuation of Leadership in Ministry I. It introduces the concepts of vision empowerment, being a communicator, overcoming conflicts, attributes of leaders, levels of leadership, tests of leadership, and integrity.

BPA 460 - Ethics and Excellence

This course defines Christian Ethics. It details the concept of conviction and practices, the conscience, and principles of love. It also lists and explains the seven ethical principles that were taught by Paul. It has a study and an analysis of the Sermon on the Mount and discusses the Christian’s relationship to the Law of Moses.

BPA 470 - Workings of the Five Fold Ministry

This course is a study of the Five-Fold Ministry. It shows it relevance and its need in today’s society. The major topics of the course are: God’s call on the Christian’s life, Defining the Five-fold ministry, Understanding God’s call, and Excellence.

GBPA 520 - Leadership Roles and Responsibilities

This course outlines the roles and responsibilities in the life of the Believer. It discusses having an effective biblical ministry, prayer partners, altar attendants and the need for security in the churches today. This course will give important tips on how to establish an efficient and prosperous ministry.

CCS 101 - Christian Counseling 100

This course will give a basic overall view of the need for Christian Counseling. It will also familiarize the student with different areas of counseling theories and techniques. Some of the major topics are: the Church as a Healing Community, Systems and Social Networks, and Groups Counseling.

CCS 211 - Christian Counseling 200

This course is a continuation of Christian Counseling 100. It will give a more in-depth study of what Biblical Counseling actually is and who is qualified to counsel. It will discuss Family Counseling, Singles Counseling and Financial Counseling.

GCCS 530 - Marriage Counseling

This course is a continuation of Christian Counseling 100. It will give a more in-depth study of what Biblical Counseling actually is and who is qualified to counsel. It will discuss Family Counseling, Singles Counseling and Financial Counseling.

GCCS 529 - Counseling, Psychology and the Christian

This course reveals the area of a Believer’s warfare is in the mind. It discusses Man’s triune being, Demonic Activity, and gives seven detailed behavior patterns as seen from an Old Testament perspective. Other sections in the course include: Shaping our Destiny, Spiritual Management and Managing the Mind.

GBTH 692 - Christ Our Healer

This course deals with the healing ministry of Jesus. It explains God’s will for healing today even as it was His will in ancient times. The subject of faith is also addressed in this commentary. The relation of sickness to sin is discussed in great detail.

BTH 121 - Systematic Theology 1

This course begins an introduction to Systematic Theology, starting with Bibliology and Basic Theology. It defines the concept of theology on a basic level and gives an overall view of the nature of God and the works of God. It will discuss the Essence of God and His attributes, The Trinity, Creation and God’s Sovereignty.

BTH 231 - Systematic Theology 2

This course is a continuation of Systematic Theology I. It is a study of Ecclesiology, Eschatology, Harmartology and Soteriology. Its topics include: Man’s origin, Man’s fall and sin, Christ, his plan and purpose, and angel’s lives and classifications.

BTH 341 - Spiritual Warfare 1

This course gives an overall introduction to the need and art of spiritual warfare. It defines occult words and explains how to identify strongholds and demonic spirits. It gives informative information on how to take control of your own life and use the Word of God to tear down the strongholds in the lives of others.

BTH 343 - Systematic Theology 3

This course deals with Harmartology (Sin), Soteriology (Salvation), and Ecclesiology (The Church), and Eschatology (The End Times). Each subject is discussed in detail giving the Bible Student a well balanced prospective on Bible Theology.

GBTH 640 - Covenants

This course discusses all of the Old Testament Covenants and how the culminate in the Messianic Covenant and have viable information for us in today’s society. The true biblical definition of the word “covenant” is discussed and how it relates to our modern world today. It also compares the word covenant from both the Old and New Testament perspective.
