I know that you have a lot of choices out there regarding the Christian or theological education that you desire. There are indeed many online seminaries and online bible colleges to pick from. One of the things I want you to remember is that CTS has been doing distance learning and online education since before it was cool. We had our first website up in the year 1999, which in internet terms, was eons ago.
Technology has come a long way and schools that used to pooh pooh distance education are now themselves advertising its virtues. There are now many turnkey online schools that are popping up. Here today and gone tomorrow. Those may not be the schools where you want to spend your time. Then you have the schools with the high tuition, but of course, you deserve that 50% discount. There are the schools that do not publish their prices because they change so much, therefore you need to call them to figure out what costs are. And then, what about the very trendy, highly publicized and super expensive online schools. You know the ones I am talking about. The ones that say they are affordable and in the same breath let you know that student loans are available. We do our best to be forthright and upfront in all that we do. Our objective is to be affordable, credible and accessible and we have been successful at it since 1999.
Remember this: people aren't stupid. The first thing they are going to do when you tell them you are going to school or graduated from school is to Google it. What will they see? A school where you got your PhD on the cheap? Did you have proctored exams or did you just have to watch videos? Did you have to write papers and do outside reading? Were you assigned a mentor to assist you in advancing through the program? Make sure you can be proud of your school and your efforts and know in your heart that you are a man or woman of God that put forth the effort and have honored the Kingdom.Whatever your motives for choosing your school, pray about it and let the Spirit guide you.
