Master of Divinity Degree Online Program Description

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) Degree is ultimately the most respected graduate degree for pastors, since it involves a wide array of course areas. The purpose of the degree is to provide leadership for the worldwide church by educating women and men in the classic disciplines of theological and biblical training, historical perspectives, and ministry skills. The Master of Divinity program is primarily designed to provide professional training for church-related ministries leading to ordination. It could be considered the MBA of religious degrees. The heart of this program is the required biblical, theological, and practical course subjects which provide a broad foundation in the disciplines essential for an effective ministry. The degree is worth 60 semester hours of credit.

Each student will be assigned a mentor to help him, or her, throughout this program. No thesis required.

This two year program has a low cost of approximately $7240. Books may be purchased through the Seminary online bookstore.

The The Master of Divinity Program (M.Div) is 60 semester hours in length and ultimately the most respected graduate degree for pastors since it involves a wide array of course areas. The purpose of the degree is to provide leadership for the worldwide church by educating women and men in the classic disciplines of theological and biblical training, historical perspectives, and ministry skills.

 

Learning Method 

The student will study independently and will utilize our Canvas Online Learning Management System. Each of the ten courses will comprise a Commentary which is approximately one hundred pages. Online quizzes and exams are included.

 

Program Particulars 

Each student will be assigned a mentor, whose services are included in tuition cost, to assist him or her throughout the program.  A thesis is not required. Most students complete the program in about 36 months, however the student may progress at their own pace. A bachelor’s degree, any discipline, is a prerequisite.

 

Course List:

GBNT 500 ACTS OF THE APOSTLES

This course is an In-depth look at the Book of Acts. It outlines the life of each apostle and gives key facts and purposes of the formation of the early church. Other topics in this course include: the three great missions of Paul and the establishment of church government.

GBNT 540 THE LETTERS OF PETER

This course is an examination of the Letters of the Apostle Peter and his concerns about false doctrines. Each of the Peterist books being with a detailed outline and discusses the key chapters and verses that lend to define each of the letters that were given to the young church.

GBOT 510 THE LIFE OF MOSES

This course is a detailed look at the life of Moses. It teaches of his early life and his burning bush experience. It outlines God’s will for the Israeli people and the giving of the Torah. Other topics of this course include: Pharaoh’s attempt at compromise, Handling discouragement, the Red Sea Experience, overcoming bitterness and following instructions.

GBOT 521 TABERNACLE OF MOSES

This course is a detailed look at the Tabernacle in the wilderness and it furnishings. It defines many of the Tabernacles symbols and gives the believer a clear look at the Messiah from an Old Testament perspective. The Breast plate is especially discusses in light of prophecy and messianic pictures.

GADM 522 PRINCIPLES OF LEADERSHIP

This course emphasizes the need for leadership in the ministry. It discusses how to be proactive for the Gospel. Being a team player is one of the strongest topics of this course. To be a team player one must: Be adaptable, have commitment, be able to communicate and be disciplined.

GBTH 592 CHRIST OUR HEALER

This course deals with the healing ministry of Jesus. It explains God’s will for healing today even as it was His will in ancient times. The subject of faith is also addressed in this commentary. The relation of sickness to sin is discussed in great detail.

GCCS 550 CHRISTIAN COUNSELING I

This course gives an overall view of many problems that Believers face and how the counselor can help. It discusses briefly, the differences of Christian Counseling. The course is divided into four sections; The Counselor, Personal Issues, Interpersonal Issues and Family Issues.

GBTH 520 THE HOLY SPIRIT

This course in pneumatology defines the works and teachings of the Holy Spirit in relationship to the Messianic Kingdom of God. The course defines the Trinity, the personality of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit‘s works in the Old Testament, Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the Nine Spiritual Gifts.

GBNT 506 AN IN-DEPTH STUDY OF THE BOOK OF JAMES

This course is an in-depth look at James, which looks at the use of the tongue and the wisdom of the Old Testament to First Century Believers. The course outlines James verse by verse and gives great perspectives on Faith in Trials, Patience in Trials, and Being a Doer of the Word of God.

GBTH 542 THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

This course deals specifically with the Gifts of the Spirit. It defines each one separately and talks of its workings and how it applies to the church today. It also tells of the Gifts, when look at as a whole, bring into manifestation the Kingdom of God.

GCCS 529 COUNSELING, PSYCHOLOGY AND THE CHRISTIAN

This course reveals the area of a Believer’s warfare is in the mind. It discusses Man’s triune being, Demonic Activity, and gives seven detailed behavior patterns as seen from an Old Testament perspective. Other sections in the course include: Shaping our Destiny, Spiritual Management and Managing the Mind.

GBCU 627 JEWISHNESS OF JESUS

This course reveals the characteristics of Jesus in his daily life as a Jew. It introduces some of the prophecies that must be filled by the candidate of Messiah. It gives a historical perspective of the life and times of Jesus explaining what was going on politically during the first century. It discusses Rabbinic Hermeneutics and the Kingdom of God. The latter part of the course gives an overview of the Feasts of the Lord.

GBPA 650 INTEGRITY

This course targets the need for integrity as a Believer. It described the qualities of God that should be found in anyone who feels called into the ministry. Topics included in the course are: Conviction, Falsehoods, Accountability, Integrity of Heart, character and Family, and Becoming a person of discernment.

GCCS 530 MARRIAGE COUNSELING

This course begins with premarital counseling and continues through problems that exist within marriage, taking a look at Biblical marriage models. It will give tips of choosing the right mate, the effects of premarital counseling, Marriage problems, and working through marital conflicts.

GBOT 553 A SURVEY OF THE HISTORY OF ISRAEL

This course is a study of Israel, its birth, development into a nation and subjugation as a nation. It defines God’s Theocratic Rule and Israel under the Rule of Man. It gives the chronology of the patriarchs and the chronology of Israel in the wilderness. King Saul, King David and King Solomon are discussed at length and the division of Israel into two kingdoms.

GBTH 532 THE BELIEVER’S ANOINTING

This course discusses the five anointings; The Prophet, The Priest, The King, The Leper and The Messianic. It gives the characteristics of each anointing and gives the overall view of how the first four are a culmination in the Messianic Anointing.

GMIS 560 RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD

This course is a comprehensive study of world religions including false cults in comparison to Christianity. It discusses the aspects of Secular Religions and Non-Christian Religions. The formation of cults and the occult are discussed in detail to give the Believer information on how to recognize that which strays from the Christian faith.

GBNT 620 LIFE OF CHRIST

This course deals specifically with the life of Jesus. It follows his life from birth to his resurrection and ascension. It compares the four gospels in helping the Believer gain a historical as well as a spiritual look at Jesus’ life. Some of the highlights in the course are: His early life, The Temptation, Judea and Galilee, His miracles, Training Disciples and His trials.

GBNT 550 THE REIGN OF GRACE

This course identifies grace from an Old and a New Testament perspective. It describe being under the Law and slaves to sin and freedom that is found in Messiah. Other topics found in this course are: Slaves to Righteousness, Doctrine of Emptiness, Walking in the Spirit, the eternal plan of God and being Super-conquerors.

GBOT 540 THE PSALMS BOOK ONE

This course gives a detailed view of Psalms one through Psalms forty-two. It discusses the thoughts and methods used by the psalmist as well as the timeless meanings of the texts. It gives a modern perspective on the psalms from the historical past.
